There were so many exciting matches today.

Houve tantas partidas empolgantes hoje.

Let's take a look at some highlights from the first match of the day,

Vamos dar uma olhada em alguns destaques da primeira partida do dia,

and learn some football vocabulary at the same time!

e aprender vocabulário de futebol ao mesmo tempo!

The match was green versus blue.

A partida foi verdes contra azuis.

The blue team won the coin toss, so they got to kick off to start the game.

O time azul ganhou o sorteio da moeda, então puderam dar o pontapé inicial pra começar o jogo.

The first goal was scored only a few minutes into  the game.

O primeiro gol foi marcado apenas alguns minutos depois do início do jogo.

The midfielder passed the ball to the striker.

O meio-campo passou a bola pro atacante.

He dribbled through the defense, and scored  a beautiful goal!

Ele driblou pela defesa, e marcou um lindo gol!

The goalkeeper had no chance!

O goleiro não teve chance!

The score was one nothing for the Green team.

O placar era um a zero pro time Verde.

But, the blue team made a great play a few minutes later.

Mas, o time azul fez uma ótima jogada alguns minutos depois.

The ball went out of bounds on the end line,

A bola saiu pela linha de fundo,

so they had a corner kick.

então tiveram um escanteio.

The player tried a bicycle kick, but the ball hit the goal post.

O jogador tentou uma bicicleta, mas a bola bateu na trave.

So close!

Por pouco!

Just before halftime, one green player committed  a foul,

Pouco antes do intervalo, um jogador verde cometeu uma falta,

so the blue team got a free kick.

então o time azul ganhou um tiro livre.

The foul was really bad, so the referee gave  the Green Team a yellow card.

A falta foi muito feia, então o árbitro deu um cartão amarelo pro Time Verde.

They need to be more careful!

Eles precisam ter mais cuidado!

The team captain took the free kick, right behind the center line.

O capitão do time bateu o tiro livre, logo atrás da linha do meio.

He passed it to the wing, who crossed it over the defenders.

Ele passou pra ala, que cruzou por cima dos defensores.

Number 10 headed the ball perfectly to score a goal.

O número 10 cabeceou a bola perfeitamente pra marcar um gol.

What an amazing header!

Que cabeçada incrível!

All of the blue team's fans were cheering.

Todos os fãs do time azul estavam vibrando.

The stadium was going crazy!

O estádio ficou em êxtase!

The referee blew the whistle to end the first half, with the score 1-1.

O árbitro apitou pra encerrar o primeiro tempo, com o placar 1-1.

In the second half, the green players made a few mistakes to start the half.

No segundo tempo, os jogadores verdes cometeram alguns erros pra começar o tempo.

First, they had a handball.

Primeiro, eles tiveram uma mão na bola.

You can't touch the ball with your arm green!

Verde, você não pode tocar a bola com o braço!

Then, number 6 slid and performed an illegal tackle.

Aí, o número 6 deslizou e fez um carrinho ilegal.

It was a dangerous move, so the referee gave him a red card,

Foi um movimento perigoso, então o árbitro deu cartão vermelho,

and he was ejected from the game

e ele foi expulso do jogo

The player from the blue team was injured, so  the coach called the substitution,

O jogador do time azul se machucou, então o técnico chamou a substituição,

and he was taken out of the game, with a teammate taking his place.

e ele foi tirado do jogo, com um companheiro de time tomando o lugar dele.

Because the foul took place in the penalty area, the blue team got a penalty kick.

Como a falta aconteceu na grande área, o time azul ganhou um pênalti.

Number 4 took the penalty and scored an easy goal.

O número 4 cobrou o pênalti e marcou um gol fácil.

2 to 1 for the blue team!

2 a 1 pro time azul!

The regulation time finished and the game went into extra time.

O tempo regulamentar terminou e o jogo foi pra prorrogação.

Two more minutes!

Mais dois minutos!

With only a few seconds remaining, the green team then got a breakaway.

Com poucos segundos restantes, o time verde então conseguiu um contra-ataque.

The player shot the ball but the goalkeeper saved it.

O jogador chutou a bola mas o goleiro defendeu.

He shot it again, and the keeper saved it again!

Ele chutou de novo, e o goleiro defendeu de novo!

What a play!

Que jogada!

The referee blew the whistle and the game was over.

O árbitro apitou e o jogo acabou.

It was almost a draw, but the blue keeper saved the game.

Foi quase um empate, mas o goleiro azul salvou o jogo.

Blue team were the winners,

O time azul foi o vencedor,

beating the green team with the final score of 2 to 1.

vencendo o time verde com placar final de 2 a 1.
