What is the difference between find out and figure out?

Qual é a diferença entre find out e figure out?

Figure out means you come to an answer or solution to a problem just by thinking about it.

Figure out significa que você chega a uma resposta ou solução para um problema só de pensar.

Find out means you discover an answer a solution or information from somewhere else.

Find out significa que você descobre uma resposta, solução ou informação de algum outro lugar.

Here's an easy  example.

Aqui está um exemplo fácil.

Alex and Maria are taking a math test.

Alex e Maria estão fazendo uma prova de matemática.

Alex has a calculator he can use the calculator to find out the answer.

Alex tem uma calculadora; ele pode usar a calculadora para find out a resposta.

But maria doesn't have a calculator, so she must figure out the answer with a pencil and paper.

Mas Maria não tem calculadora, então ela tem que figure out a resposta com lápis e papel.

Here's another example.

Mike and Helen bought a new remote control for their TV, and it has so many buttons.
